Effects of Academic Strike and COVID-19 Pandemic on Students Academic Activities During Lockdown in Higher Education (107870)

The study undertaken to investigate the "effect of academic strike and Covid-19 pandemic lockdown in public institutions in Oyo state, Nigeria. The purpose of the study include; to examine the influence of academic strike on students academic performance, the perception of Nigeria students towards e-learning during Covid-19 lockdown and to find out the challenges confronting students on their academic activities during lockdown. In the course of study, descriptive survey design was adopted. Sample random was used to select two public institutions in Oyo state. 500 students was selected in each school. Frequency and simple percentage was used to analysed the result and the hypothesis were tested using T-test and linear reqression.The study reveals that academic strike dose not significantly influence students' academic strike and their was a significant perception of Nigeria students in Oyo state towards e-learning and there is a significant challenges facing student's academic activities during academic strike and Covid-19 pandemic during lockdown. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended that educational administrator should be ready to shift ground on issues so as to avert academic performance, also government & policy maker are to made known the influence of academic strike and Covid-19 Pandemic on students' academic performance, in lieu of this, functional and effective legislation should be put in place to guide academic strike and pandemic.
