Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) has been widely acknowledged as a strategy for bridging theory and practice for undergraduate students. Higher education institutions hold strategic positions in the knowledge economy of every nation. The advancements in technology and the need to provide a more engaging learning environment require an understanding of how knowledge is created, captured, organised, retrieved, and disseminated in developing skills and knowledge for future graduates. The study aims to assess the knowledge management (KM) practice and its extent in developing skills for WIL undergraduate students from a selected University of Technology in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Specifically, the study examines four constructs for skills development, which are knowledge-sharing practices, information accessibility, effectiveness of KM processes, and culture of knowledge sharing. Using a structured, closed-ended questionnaire, quantitative data were collected from a sample size of 200 undergraduate students doing WIL as part of the university curriculum requirements. Data will be analysed using SPSS version 28 and presented using inferential and descriptive statistics. The findings will contribute to the discourse on graduate employability and the needs and requirements of the industry.
