This presentation presents an early field experience implemented by the English Pedagogy Program at the University of Concepción, Los Ángeles Campus, in collaboration with schools across the Biobío province. The initiative was developed within the framework of the Provincial English Network and involved first-year students participating in English Week activities at several schools. This pedagogical action enabled early engagement with real school settings, promoting the development of pedagogical, communicative, and attitudinal competencies, while also establishing a horizontal relationship between the university and local educational communities. Through collaborative design, academic guidance, and reflective practice, the project strengthened initial teacher education from a situated learning perspective. Surveys administered to participating students and schoolteachers show high levels of satisfaction, meaningful learning, and willingness to continue the collaboration in the future. The presentation aligns with the thematic focus on progressive practices and is presented as a pedagogical action report with potential for replication in other regions and disciplines.
